Arrested Development News – Annyong?
The one-line wonder Annyong Bluth will likely be back in the new season of Arrested Development, although actor Justin Lee, who portrays Lucille’s adopted son, is characteristically tight-lipped about what we can expect to see in upcoming episodes: “Walking back on set was like nothing had ever changed. The chemistry’s the same. I literally can’t say anything else,” he told Vulture in an interview.
Although the details about Annyong’s future are sparse, Lee shares quite a few details of what it was like growing up on the set of Arrested Development. Because his character had only one line (at least at first), he had to read a George Michael’s scene during the audition so that the producer’s could gauge his talent: “I remember thinking I did something similar to what Michael Cera did after the episode aired. I identified with the father-son relationship.”
Lee also details his off-screen relationship with Jessica Walters (Lucille Bluth) — who really did treat him like an adopted son — and Tony Hale (Buster Bluth) — who went out of his way to make time for the teenager. Lee also says he spent time with Michael Cera (George Michael) and Alia Shawkat (Maeby Funke), and that the three went to Knott’s Berry Farm together, back during the original run of the show: “I’ll never forget that either. It was just for fun. Michael’s from Canada, so he hadn’t been to Knott’s.”
