Hannibal Fan Campaigns
With Hannibal‘s fate still hanging in the air, Fannibals are getting serious about letting NBC know just how much they love this show. If you signed the Save Hannibal petition on Care2, you might want to check out just what came of it. The 10,038 signatures were printed off, bound in beautiful (and macabre packaging), ready to be shipped off to NBC, as well as show creator Bryan Fuller and executive producer Martha de Laurentiis.
The plan is to get the package to NBC for Thursday (May 16) morning, ahead of the new episode, which airs at 10/9c that night.
But the plan doesn’t stop there. Aside from watching the show and getting your friends to watch, there are other ways to pitch in and help save the show. The #EATTHERUDE campaign so far involved both a mailing campaign and a Twitter campaign.
Step one is to print/create business cards and physically mail them to the NBC offices. Tumblr user ktgay has a more in-depth explanation available here, along with a template you can use for the business cards.
Even if you can’t take part in the mailing campaign, you can join Fannibals on Twitter Thursday evening, as they try to get #EATTHERUDE to trend during Hannibal’s broadcast.
Update: You can also join in the Twitter contest to win a signed picture of Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal Lecter). Full details here.
Update #2: You can now stay informed about the fan campaign at HannibalHQ.com.
Those are the fan campaigns that we know of here at Cult TV. If you know of another project, please sound off in the comments below, or drop us a line!
