Tense Weekend Ahead for Hannibal Fans

While pretty much every other fandom is getting a solid answer on whether or not their shows have been cancelled or renewed, NBC is really dragging it out when it comes to Hannibal. So far, the show remains the only one without a status update on TV By the Numbers‘ List of Renewed and Cancelled Broadcast Shows for this season (pictured below).

Fannibals are likely going to have to wait until even after Monday’s upfronts, if show creator Bryan Fuller’s comments to Buzzfeed are anything to go by:

We have no idea. We may not even know for another week or so. They’re being very close to the vest. But they’re saying Bob Greenblatt doesn’t want to make a decision right away. So we may not hear until next week, or the week after. It’s hard to say. … They won’t announce us being picked up or canceled by Monday is what we’re being told.

If you want to join your fellow fans waiting on tenterhooks, you can follow TV By the Numbers and the Cancellation Bear on Twitter. And, of course, Bryan Fuller will likely share the news on his Twitter as well.

On the plus side, this could give fans more time to show the network that they support this ratings-challenged show. If you want to help out with the fan campaign, head over to Care2 and sign the petition to support Hannibal, if you haven’t already.
